"The earlier statement given by me was out of misunderstanding. I am withdrawing the statement since the party has not taken a final position on its future course vis-a-vis stand (with regard to Modi government) in parliament", Roy, who was elected to the Lok Sabha from Dum Dum constituency, said.

Asked about the stand of the party, which has 34 Lok Sabha MPs, towards the NDA government and Centre-state relations, another TMC leader Sudip Bandyopadhay, named by party supremo Mamata Banerjee as leader of the TMC parliamentary party in the Lok Sabha, said "I cannot say anything without consulting the party chief."

Mamata Banerjee had been one of the strongest critics of Narendra Modi during Lok Sabha election campaign on various counts.
