Agartala: The 54th national art exhibition of Lalit Kala Akademy would be inaugurated by Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar at Nazrul Kalakshetra in Agartala on December 17, official sources said on Saturday.

This decision was finalised when Chairman of the akademy, K R Subarna and the Secretary Dr Sudhakar Sharma met Sarkar in Agartala on Friday.

Sources said, 124 art pieces including paintings, sculptures and photographs would be shown during twenty-day-long exhibition. The paintings and sculptures were selected by a group of eminent artists from 8047 entries from 35 states.

Sources said ten art pieces of the exhibited materials would be awarded and each award winner would get Rs 3 lakh in cash and a citation.
