Agartala: The issue of seat sharing between Congress, Congress National Conference of Tripura (CNCT) and Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT) during the state assembly poll has come to an end. The Congress agreed to give one seat and 10 seats to CNCT and INPT respectively.

Expressing happiness over the seat sharing arrangement, Tripura Congress Committee president Sudip Roy Burman said that Congress is like a family where issues can be resolved by holding talks. NCT president, Animesh Dev Burman has also accepted the proposal.

The five-year term of Tripura Assembly will expire on March 16. The date for filing nomination papers for February 14 assembly polls has concluded on January 28. The scrutiny of nomination papers would be held on January 29, while candidates can withdraw their names from the contest.

The results of the polls will be declared on February 28.
