Port Blair: Two police constables in the Andamans have been arrested for misbehaving and insulting the modesty of a woman computer instructor, official sources said on Monday.

The two constables undergoing computer training at PTS Prothrapur were arrested under section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and Section 34 (common intention) of IPC on 1 January, the day the complaint was lodged by the instructor, the sources said.

The police department was also initiating disciplinary proceedings against the two for misconduct, a communication from SP, South Andaman District said.
