Rajnandgaon: Four persons, including two road contractors, were arrested today on charges of supplying arms and ammunition to naxals. Contractors Irfan and Ahmed Qureshi, who mostly work in Maharashtra's Maoist-infested Gadchiroli and Gondia districts, and two others allegedly involved in the network of supplying arms to naxals had been arrested, DIG Hemkrishna Rathore said.

The four were nabbed while negotiating sale of cartridges to naxals, he said. During interrogation, the contractors confessed to having supplied naxals with their day-to-day needs and ammunition for the past four years, the DIG said.

An American pistol, cartridges of different bore and six mobile phones besides Rs four lakh were seized from them, he said.
