New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Thursday claimed to have cracked a gang involved in betting during the Champions League T-20 cricket matches with the arrest of two persons from Moti Nagar area of Delhi.

Acting on a tip off, the Delhi police raided a house in New Moti Nagar on Wednesday evening and arrested 38-year-old Pankaj Vij and 43-year- -old Ved Prakash for their alleged involvement in betting during the matches.

“A laptop, mobile phones, TV sets, calculator, chargers, setup box were recovered from the house,” said V Renganathan, Additional Commissioner of Police.

During interrogations, it was revealed that the betting gang was jointly operating with their counterparts in Mumbai.

“Search for other members of the gang is going on,” said Renganathan adding the Mumbai police has been informed about the operational betting gang.
