Purnia: The Bihar Police on Sunday arrested two smugglers with Rs 5 lakh fake Indian currency.

Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested the accused while they were waiting to board a bus for Kishanganj at Barsoi Chowk.

Both smugglers have been identified as Mohammad Muzzmil and Mohammad Baijulhaq of Telania Rehika village in Purnia.

During their interrogation both told the police that they were assigned task to deliver a bag full of fake currency somewhere in Chennai and were heading towards Kishanganj railway station to catch a train for Chennai.

SP Amit Lodha said, “They were going to catch train for Chennai from Kishanganj. Police also recovered reserved train tickets from their possession.”

The police are interrogating them to ascertain their role and further links in the case.
