Dehradun: Two suspected poachers were arrested and a leopard skin seized from their possession by the Uttarakhand Forest Department in Jajurali area of Pithoragarh district, official sources said on Friday.

Acting on a tip-off, the forest team arrested Kailash Nath and Bishan Nath yesterday during a raid and recovered the leopard skin from their possession. The duo was planning to sell the skin to some party in Pithoragarh.

During interrogation, the accused said they had killed the leopard by putting up a snare in Anwalagara jungles of Gangolihaat five months ago. The two have been booked under the Wildlife Protection Act.
