Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday transferred two senior IAS and three IPS officers in a minor administrative reshuffle.

Suhas L Y, who was awaiting posting, has been made the new district magistrate of Jaunpur in place of Balkar Singh who has been transferred to Chitrakoot in the same capacity, an official release said.

Agriculture Production Commissioner Alok Rajan has also been made the officiating chief secretary of the state, the release said.

Chief Secretary Javed Usmani has proceeded on a ten-day leave on medical grounds.

Meanwhile, the state government also transferred three IPS officers, including two district police chiefs.

SP Kushinagar Vijay Kumar Garg has swapped places with SP Ghazipur D K Chaudhary, an official spokesman said.

Additional SP Varanasi Muniraj has been posted as ADC to Uttar Pradesh Governor.
