Kabul: A suicide bomber blew himself up at a border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan on Friday, killing two people including a senior Afghan police commander, officials said.

Kandahar provincial government spokesman Javeed Faisal said the attacker detonated his explosives at the gates of the Spin Boldak on the Afghan side. “The blast killed one (Afghan) border police officer and one civilian,” he said.

Border police said that the officer killed in the blast was the checkpoint commander. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
