Lucknow, Jan 10 (Agencies): Two more persons died due to severe cold conditions in different parts of Uttar Pradesh, taking the toll in the State this winter to 83.

Victims, including an 85-year-old man, died due to cold in Hardoi district on Sunday, officials said here.

Cold conditions prevailed in most parts of the State, MeT department officials said, adding clouds also hovered over many places in the State.

The State capital Lucknow recorded a minimum of five degrees Celsius on Monday morning, which was two notches below normal, while Varanasi recorded a low of four degree Celsius, four notches below normal.

Kanpur shivered at 4.7 degree C, which was three notches below normal, while minimum temperature in Allahabad settled at 5.8, three degrees below normal.
