Shahjahanpur: Launching a scathing attack on the Congress and the BJP, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Tuesday said the Congress-led Central Government has been allegedly involved in 62 scams in 31 months on an average of two scams per month worth Rs 20 lakh crores. On the other hand, the BJP have attempted to mislead the Muslim voters by projecting the Samajwadi Party as the number one party after the assembly polls.”

Addressing election rallies in Shahjahanpur and Pilibhit Mayawati said, “When the BSP came into power five years back, it had major challenges like lawlessness, poverty and unemployment to fight with. The party established proper law and order in the state and sent the mafias behind the bars.”

Reacting to the recent remarks made by BJP MP Varun Gandhi on SP’s performance, Mayawati said, “It is a well planned conspiracy of the BJP to mislead the Muslim voters by saying that the SP will remain at the top in the elections.”

She claimed. “The constituencies where the polling is due, there is no public support for either the Congress or the SP. If the Muslims vote for these parties, the BJP will gain out of it. Therefore, the saffron party has intentionally spread rumours about the SP remaining at the top in the elections.”

Taking a dig at the Congress, the BSP supremo said, “The Congress has ruled Uttar Pradesh for most of the times but failed to bring any changes. And now they are hoping for another chance.”
