Nimach: Former SDM of Jawad, Gangaram Patidar, has been handed out two years of imprisonment after charges of corruption were proved against him. Special judge also imposed a penalty of Rs 10,000 in a corruption case dated back to 2008. Moreover, the court has also asked the concerned authorities to probe the property of Patwari Ramswaroop Sahoo who had complained about the ex-SDM’s involvement in corrupt practices.  

Patwari Ramswaroop Sahoo had registered a complaint with state Lokayukta accusing the then SDM of Jawad of demanding bribe from former. Patwari had also furnished evidence in a mobile phone record of discussion with SDM.

After examining the authenticity of the evidence, the Lokayukta officials presented it before the special court. Thirty-one witnesses deposed before the court during trial after which Gangaram Patidar was sentenced post retirement.
