Dubai: Indian plastic majors will turn in large numbers at two major industry expos in the UAE later this year, aiming to tap the huge growth prospects of the Middle East market.

The UAE will host two major plastic industry events -- Plastivision Arabia 2012 and ArabiaMold -- from May 14 to 17, 2012, and the events are slated to see the largest ever Indian participation, organisers said.

The international plastics exhibition and conference aims to take advantage of the market in the UAE that packs huge growth prospects.

The events are being organised in Sharjah in association with the All India Plastics Manufacturers Association (AIPMA), and the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

"Positioned as a comprehensive and cost-effective platform for raw material producers, primary processing and auxiliary equipment suppliers and traders, the show has already received confirmations from more than a hundred exhibitors.

"It will also see the largest ever participation of Indian plastics companies, and cater to the rising demand from regional countries as well as emerging economies," said Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, Director-General of Expo Centre Sharjah.

Besides, the events will feature a special green technology zone and seminars and workshops on bio plastics.
