Bhopal: To commemorate the birth anniversary of Sant Ravidas, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday announced to construct a memorial in Ujjain in memory of the dalit icon.

In order to construct the memorial, the acquisition of land will begin soon. While addressing public in Ujjain, MP CM also appealed to take inspiration from Sant’s life. He also honoured Mukesh Tatwal with Sant Ravidas Award carrying a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh.

“For improving the economic conditions in our state, we are planning to reduce the loan rates for poor. The facility of donation will also be given to them” Shivraj said.

“Necessary steps are being taken to uplift the conditions of Schedule castes. People should encourage their children for further education. The state government is contemplating on a plan to provide Rs 15 lakh to every child willing to study abroad. Government will provide resources for education” he added.
