Gwalior: Acting on a tip off, the Gwalior district administration and Health department jointly raided a private nursing home here on Monday and sealed the ultrasound machine for allegedly performing sex determination tests.

According to police sources, the license of the nursing home has been temporarily cancelled and a committee has been set up to investigate the matter.

The officials of district administration and health department raided the Munda Nursing Home located in Naya Bazar area of Gwalior on Monday following information about an incident of abortion performed on a woman expecting girl child.

According to reports, an Indergarh resident Saroj had undergone abortion in the nursing home after the sonography test reported that she was expecting a girl child.
