The delegation on Monday evening submitted a memorandum of demands to contain pollution of the Yamuna, Agra Development Foundation secretary KC Jain said on Tuesday.

The memorandum said the Yamuna was a major source of drinking water, and it nourished and sustained India's culture, heritage and religion. But now it has been reduced to a sewage canal, and toxic pollutants were threatening the survival of heritage monuments along its banks, including the Taj Mahal.
