"Advice of the Secretary General would always be for 'on' in order to support the talks." Strphane Dujarric, Spokesman for the Secretary General said yesterday in response to a question on India and Pakistan.

"Obviously, there are circumstances involved, but he's always been very supportive of the dialogue between the leaders of Pakistan and India in order to resolve a number of the outstanding issues at hand," Dujarric said.
India and Pakistan agreed mutually to defer the Foreign Secretary-level talks that were to take place in Islamabad this week. They have agreed to hold the parleys in the "very near future".
The talks were deferred after the deadly terror attacks in Pathankot. India has sought action by Pakistan on the evidence provided for apprehending the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists suspected to have been involved in the January 2 attack. India has linked the fate of the talks to action by Pakistan.
