"This campaign aims at raising awareness about different forms of violence, including physical, emotional and sexual, and child marriage," UNICEF said in a statement, inviting all to join hands for the cause.

Actors such as Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Rahul Bose, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Farhan Akhtar and prominent names from sports such as Virendra Sehwag and Saina Nehwal have come on board and are supporting the cause, it said.

According to the organisation, 21 percent of girls in India have been subjected to physical violence since age of 15 and added that 13 percent of girls aged between 15 and 19 years suffered from sexual violence.

It also appealed to the people to support the campaign on social media sites.
