Sirsa: Union Minister of Housing and Urban Poverty alleviation (HUPA) Kumari Shailaja has advocated for providing reservation to every poor section of the society.

She said this while addressing a press conference organized at the residence of former Haryana Minister Jagdish Nehra.

While expressing anger over continuing power crisis in the state, Shailaja said that new power plants are unable to meet the increasing demand while some of the plants have been closed. She clarified that there was a need of taking strong measures in this regard.

While replying to another query, she said that there has not been such type of development in the state as it was being expected.

Union Minister also said that a number of posts were lying vacant in different government departments in Haryana. To a query on the appointment of PCC president, Shailaja said that this would be done soon after president’s election on priority basis. She also said that local reasons were responsible in most cases of minorities’ exploitation.

She also said that Rajiv Gandhi Awas Yojna is being implemented in the state under JNNURM (Jawahar Lal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission.
