"Yesterday, I have written to NTPC Managing Director after discussions with Union Energy Minister Piyush goel and NTPC senior officials," Sharma said on Friday.

NTPC Dadri produces 2,720 MW power. It includes 1,880 MW coal based plant and 840 MW gas based plant. At the time of acquisition of land for NTPC Dadri stage II project the then energy minister Sushil Shinde had announced 24 hour power supply in 10 kilometer radius of the NTPC plant. Later, it was reduced to 5 kilometer and the Ministry sanction was granted but was cancelled.

There is a need to discuss the issue on priority and resolve it to the satisfaction of villagers whose land has been acquired for the project, he said.

These farmers were not being given the 64.7 percent hiked compensation and 10 percent developed land as per High Court bench order for Noida and Greater Noida villages.

NTPC should take decision in this direction so that farmers do not feel neglected and they get their just demand fulfilled, Sharma added.

Among other demands was reservation for children of farmers at schools running inside the NTPC complex. NTPC to Dadri link road via Bishada, Pioli, Rasulpur was in bad shape and the company should construct the road as per Greater Noida authority norms

In 1987, NTPC had promised employment to farmers children and it needs to be implemented, he added.
