New Delhi: After the arrest of the former chairman of CWG Organising Committee Suresh Kalmadi and the naming of Kanimozhi, daughter of DMK chief M Karunanidhi, by the CBI in the supplementary chargesheet in 2G case on Monday, the Opposition parties have now shifted their target to Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit.

The opposition parties have termed the non inclusion of Dayalu - wife of DMK chief - in the CBI chargesheet as a political deal between DMK and Congress.

The entire Opposition termed the two major developments on Monday as too little, too late.

BJP General Secretary Vijay Goel said, “Along with Kalmadi, the Shunglu report had held Sheila Dikshit responsible for the CWG scam. Therefore she should resign from her post and be arrested immediately.”

“Persons, who were responsible for framing the policies for CWG, including Prime Minister Office, Council of Ministers and other officials should be brought to the book,” he added.

Speaking on similar lines, CPM leader Brinda Karat said, “Arrest of Kalmadi is a very small development in the big scam. Every one responsible for the scam and named in the Shunglu report is answerable.”

Even after Kanimozhi was named in the supplementary chargesheet of 2G scam, disgruntled BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said, “Charging Kanimozhi, who is a 20 percent stake holder in the Kalaignar TV is not enough. 60 percent stakeholder of the company Dayalu should also be charged. This is a clear political deal between DMK and Congress, which fears action against Dayalu may hamper the UPA coalition.”
