New Delhi: After holding long debate with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Central University to be set up in the state, Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal agreed on Friday that a Central varsity would be set up at Motihari as well as at Gaya.

Earlier he had said that university would be set up at Gaya. Bihar Government had made a request for a Central University in Motihari. The varsity proposal had created a division between Nitish Kumar and HRD Minister Kapil Sibal, who had favoured Gaya as an ideal location as the place is close to international airport and is also well connected.

Kapil Sibal has been locked in an impasse with Nitish Kumar over the location of the Central University. While Sibal favoured Gaya, the state government preferred the university to be set up at Motihari. Sibal was keen to resolve the issue.
