New Delhi: In order to spur the preparations of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi is all set to strike a chord with the villagers by his road shows and by directly interacting with them.

Notably, Rahul Gandhi has already used this formula in western UP during Bhatta Parsaul case with a view to gain political mileage. This time he is eyeing to woo Purvanchal voters.

According to sources, Rahul may hold rallies in 32 districts of the Purvanchal region in November. Taking the festive season of Durga Puja and Diwali into consideration, the program has been set for next month.

Given the situation, the security agencies are already active. They have been bestowed with the responsibility of finalizing the routes for Rahul's road show which will include a heavy cavalcade.

According to the plan, 32 districts of the Poorvanchal will be divided into three sections. Rahul, in a day would visit major cities, regions and towns of these districts. He is also expected to halt in any of these villages during the night hours.

The party strategists are of the view that Rahul wants to understand the grassroot problem of the villagers by becoming one of them. The experience gained from the exercise would be used in the upcoming elections. Also, he would be able to assess the party status in such areas.

Earlier Rahul held a road show in Bhatta Parsaul area.

Rahul has decided to take this step keeping the preparations for the Uttar Pradesh upcoming Assembly elections in mind, especially at a time when Congress seems to lagging behind as compared to the SP and the BSP.

It has been more than two months now that Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have not visited UP. When the party was preoccupied with Anna Hazare and Baba Ramdev's movement, Sonia had to go abroad for treatment.

However, in view of the Assembly elections, BSP supremo and state Chief Minister Mayawati is active in every way. Her party candidates have already started their home work. As a part of election strategy, three new districts have been created.

Likewise, the Samajwadi Party, through the bicycle rally, is trying to connect with people of Lucknow, Unnao, Kanpur, Rae Bareli, Fatehpur, Banda, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Orai, Jalaun, Hardoi, Shahjahanpur and Ghaziabad.
