Besides, the Class 12 exams are expected to commence from 3rd March and scheduled to end on 4th April. The results will be announced on first week of June 2014.

It has been further learnt that the exam will be held in two shifts – 7:30 am to 10:45 am and 2 pm to 5:15 pm. More than 70 lakh students have filled up their forms for Class 10 so far and another 31.27 lakh for Class 12 exams. There has been a rise of 9.5 percent in the enrolment of students compared to 2013.

In 2013 UP Board Class 12 exams, girls outshone boys by bagging an overall pass percentage of 96.32, while it was 89.79 percent among boys.

The UP Board is conducting exams since 1923 and is among India's largest examining bodies.
