Kanpur: As many as 63 lakh students will sit for the UP board examination, which has brought in many changes in the test pattern, in a bid to boost the morale of students by increasing the percentage of results. The examination will commence from March 16.

However, there are many students who are unaware of the changes in the pattern of examination, hence the UP board has asked respective principals of the schools to brief the students in this regard.

Meanwhile, the new evaluation system will enables the students to score high marks in the examination. There will be an additional 33 marks for projects and practical. Also, in order to get a first division, scoring at least 33 percent in theory will be mandatory.

Important changes:

Instead of three, students have to attempt two questions in Mathematics and Hindi.

The prescribed course will be adjusted in two papers.

The syllabus will be available on the board website.

In high school exams, for every paper the students have to attempt only one question in place of two.

The intermediate test copies in all districts will have code numbers.

At present high school test copies of ten districts will have code numbers.

Changes in timings

The UP Board for the first time is giving additional 15 minutes to read the question paper.

The physically challenged students will get an extra time of 20 minutes.

The timing will be from 7:30am to 10:45am and 2pm to 5:15pm
