Lucknow: With the change of regime in Uttar Pradesh, the top officials of the state have begun lobbying around Chief Minister-designate Akhilesh Yadav to strike rapport with him. Such bids of these officials are aimed at getting desirable positions in the new state administration.

However, Akhilesh Yadav has cracked the whip on overzealous party workers, hinting at a complete makeover of the Samajwadi Party. Akhilesh has already started scanning of the track records of the officers to trace such bureaucrats who have maintained a spotless image. It is believed that they will be assigned important responsibilities in the state administration.

A top senior bureaucrat who was considered to be very close to the Chief Minister in the last BSP regime is making all possible efforts to get into the good book of the CM-designate Akhilesh Yadav. He is striving to reach to 5, Vikramaditya Marg (Akhilesh Yadav’s residence in Lucknow) through a local SP leader and a Delhi based Muslim Cleric.

A UP cadre officer who is posted in Delhi is also in the race to get the post of state Chief Secretary. Interestingly, he visited to the residence of Mulayam Singh Yadav on March 4, just two days prior to the counting of votes, to greet him. This officer was said to be highly influential in the previous SP government and was also known as the ‘Yes Man’ of former party leader Amar Singh.

Many others are approaching to the kin of the new CM especially the SP spokesperson Professor Ramgopal Yadav to get the affinity of Akhilesh Yadav.

These bureaucrats were also considered to be influential in the last Mulayam Singh government and were known as the ‘Yes Man’ of Amar Singh.
