Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday requested National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development to allocate at least Rs 2,250 crore to achieve the target of agriculture loan disbursement of Rs 4,265 in the current fiscal.
The issue was raised by the Chief Minister during a meeting with NABARD Chairman Prakash Bakshi at his official residence, an official spokesman said here.
The CM had a detailed discussion with NABARD chairman over development of the state and various priorities of the state government, spokesman said.
He said farmers and villages were on the priority of the state government and in its wake the Chief Minister requested the NABARD to take early decisions on various issues related to development.
Referring to RBI ban on 25 non-licenced district cooperative banks, Akhilesh requested NABARD to lift the ban immediately and allow the bank to do banking business.
He requested that as per the recommendation of Vaidyanathan Committee remaining amount of Rs 922.28 crore of central assistance to be received by the state under revival package should be released immediately, the spokesman added.
