Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Congress on Friday expelled a senior leader and two time MLA Brijendra Kumar Vyas for anti-party activities.

"Chairman of UP Congress discipline committee, Ramkrishna Dwivedi, has expelled Vyas alias 'Dumdum Mahraj' for six years
after he was found to be involved in anti-party activities," Congress spokesman Dwijendra Tripathi said.

Reports of Vyas' anti-party activities have also been reported in the media, Tripathi said. Vyas, who was elected to Vidhan Sabha twice on BSP ticket from Jhansi, had unsuccessfully contested the last Assembly polls from the same seat as Congress nominee, Tripathi said.
