“Protests were held at the district headquarters all over the state. Party members from Faizabad dragged four-wheelers to lodge their protest over the price hike of diesel and petrol," party spokesman Vijay Saxena said here.
In the state capital, the party workers from the district and city units took out a march but were stopped from proceeding towards the Vidhan Bhawan, he said.

Similar reports have also come in from Varanasi where the partymen held a joint fast, Saxena said, adding that protests were also held in Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Kanpur, Sitapur, Mirzapur, Bareilly, Moradabad, Aligarh, Muzafarnagar and Allahabad among others.

Petrol price was hiked by Rs 1.69 per litre and diesel by 50 paise a litre by the Union government recently.
