New Delhi: As the political parties gear up for the forthcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the state Congress big wigs have started lobbying for getting tickets.

Despite heated deliberations, members of the Congress screening committee failed to reach consensus over the names of the contestants to be fielded in different constituencies of UP.

With the announcements of 165 names in the last two lists released by the committee, the party stalwarts are trying their level best to see the names of their favourite candidates in the final list. Consequently, two marathon meetings oraganized by the committee on October 29 and 31 have failed to bring forth any consensus over the names for nearly dozen seats.
