The UP government promised to distribute Rs 200 crore by March 27, but in reality only Rs 92 crore was distributed by April 3, BJP state president Laxmi Kant Bajpai said.
"CM Akhilesh Yadav, son of "dharti putra" Mulayam Singh Yadav, and his cabinet colleagues have not reached the farmers directly so far," Bajpai alleged.
He alleged that the insensitive government has failed to distribute compensation for crops destroyed due to rain and hailstorm.
The state government was citing shortage of funds, but in reality Rs 675 crore was already in the state disaster relief fund, Bajpai said, adding that union Agriculture Ministry has written to all states that this amount should be distributed and adjustment would be done by the centre later.
He also said that the state government has failed to submit utilisation certificate of Rs 744 crore for drought relief to the centre.
Bajpai further said that utilisation certificate of Rs 250 crore given by the centre at the time of hailstorm in the last fiscal had not been submitted, which meant it was still in the state coffers.
