Mathura: The Uttar Pradesh government is planning to construct a new ropeway in Barsana town in a bid to tap the tourism potential of Mathura.

A ropeway from Barsana to the hillock Bramhachal in Mathura, on which the famous Sri Ji temple stands, is on the cards, officials said.

"Technical feasibility of the project is being examined by a team led by ex-Army officer Alok Sharma," Tourist Officer D K Sharma said.

Sharma said that the team has examined all the pros and cons of the plan and would revisit it after a fortnight.
