The government is of view that many states including Gujarat have attained success by making the masses aware of various plans and schemes being run by them.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Javed Usmani has ordered all the principal secretaries, secretaries, commissioners and district magistrates to promote government schemes plans under ‘common logo common message’.

It is reported that Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will interact with the media every month apprising them of the states government’s new plans and policies.

Usmani has also directed the officials to hold a press conference on monthly basis to promote the government schemes and the progress on development agenda.

Common logo Common message: Various departments, corporations and institutions issue separate advertisements relating to the same scheme. But under the new policy, ‘common logo, common message’ watchwords will be adopted.

The government believes that on many occasions, many directorates, corporations and institutions relating to a particular department release advertisements without consulting the Information Department. Now all the ads will be prepared according to the new media plan.

Focus on flagship programme: The government has now decided to focus on its flagship programmes like Samajwadi Pension Scheme, Lucknow Metro, IT City, Laptop Distribution, Agra-Lucknow Expressway, Kanya Vidya Dhan, Hamarai Beti Uska Kal. Every month, the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary will focus on the achievements made in these projects.

Recruitment of officers: The new plan also provides special training for the officials of Information Department and hiring of new employees. The plan is to take full advantage of electronic and social media to bring a communication revolution in the state.

Facelift of Information Department:
The government has decided to restructure the Information Department. It is preparing to buy modern machines like a High-tech camera, processing lab, studio, LCD and LED projectors.
