"We have not just fulfilled the promises made in the manifesto but also taken up other projects as per the need. Metro was not in the manifesto but we are working to give a clean urban transport system," the Chief Minister said in the state Assembly while replying to the motion of thanks on the Governor's address to the joint sitting of the House.
Akhilesh said that his government had given a Metro project to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Parliamentary constituency Varanasi.
"BJP members can understand as to how without bias and politics we are working for urban transport system. We understood that there was a need for it and so we have also given money for the Metro project in the Prime Minister's constituency," Yadav told the House.
