He was delivering his views as a chief guest at the 'Mahamana Malaviya Jayanti Mahotsav' at Banaras Hindu University here.

"It's unfortunate that the education system in the country these days has become more commercialised and is deviated from imparting the value-based education focused on character building of students," he said.

He said the dreams of Malaviyaji can only be achieved if the institutions focus more on the character building of students than commercalisation and marketing.

Pointing out the achievements and the hardships faced by Malaviyaji while building this institution here, Naik said "this university presently can proudly be claimed by us as a model university of our country".

Naik said, however, its a matter of disappointment for us that none of the universities in the country could make up its place in the top 200 global rankings of the universities.

He said, "I regret that I could not study in such a prestigious university built by Malaviyaji, but those who are studying are fortunates and they must make an effort to take forward the vision of Malaviyaji all across the world."

BHU vice chancellor Girish Chandra Tripathi said, "the vision and thoughts of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya has become more stronger than it was before, and as the day passes by it would grow even more stronger".
