Lucknow:Chief Medical Officer of Family Welfare Department and three other officials were arrested on Tuesday in a forgery case of about Rs 10 crore.

A case has been registered against the three officials including, District Administrative Officer Chandrajeet Yadav and senior clerk Prem Chandra Verma in Vazeerganj police station here.

According to reports, CMO YS Sachan was arrested after a large number of forgery bills and fake certificates were discovered from his office. After his arrest, police has been keeping a strict vigil on those who cleared the fake bills.

DGP, Law and Order, Brij Lal refuted that an MP and an MLC of Purvanchal were interrogated. However, he accepted that police are still unable to reach any conclusion.


All the three accused were presented before Intikhab Aalam, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (CBI). The court has remanded them to judicial custody for 14 days.
