Allahabad: The Allahabad High Court has termed the Electro Homeopathy method of treatment as unscientific and unacceptable. The court ruled that it can’t allow research on human beings under this method of treatment. It also termed the people, who are practicing this method for the treatment of the diseases, as quacks.
The court in its decision said, “The Article 21 of the constitution gives every human being a right to be healthy. It is the responsibility of the state government to safeguard the people from unrecognized medicinal treatments.”
The court’s decision came on the petition filed by the Indian Electro Homeopathy Medical Council and Kamala Nehru Homeopathy Medical Institute Rambagh demanding to legalize the practice of Electro Homeopathy for the treatment of diseases in India.
While dismissing the plea to allow the practice of electro homeopathy for the treatment of the diseases, the bench of Justices Sunil Ambani and Manoj Mishra said that this method of treatment cannot be allowed. Also, the court has warned that petitions on this matter should not be filed again.
Contending the petitioners’ plea of the, Advocate J K Tiwari said, “The Ministry of Health and Family welfare had earlier constituted a committee which denied to approve this method of treatment. The committee approved some of the alternative methods of medical treatment like Ayurveda, Sidh, Unani, Homeopathy, Yoga and Naturopathy.”
The court has directed the concerned authorities to execute its orders and ensure that they are followed.
