Allahabad: The results of UP Intermediate exams, which were declared on Wednesday scripted several new records apart from breaking the existing ones.

92.6 percent students passed out this year which is 3.28 percent more than last year’s 89.40 percent. Girls once again outshone boys by registering pass percentage of 96.22, much higher than boys’ pass percentage of 89.79.

Harshit Srivastav of SKDA Inter College, Rajajipuram, Arjita Varma of Barabanki’s RS Yadav Memorial Inter College and Manu Singh of Triveshi Kashi Inter College secured first position in the state by scoring 96.80 percent marks.

Secondary Education Council Director Vasudev Yadav told reporters that this is for the first time a large number of students passed out successfully. The main reason behind this is attributed to changes introduced in evaluation system. Yadav said 26,40,766 students were registered this year, out of which 25,48, 814 students had appeared for the exam. Out of 25, 48, 814 students, 23,62,262 successfully passed the exam.

Yadav further said Vibhantika Dwivedi and Shivgovind Shukla of Lucknow Public Inter College secured second position by scoring 96.60 percent. The third position was shared jointly by Satyendra Kumar of Lucknow, Kamini Chaudhary of Unnao, Gayas Ansari and Satyam Singh of Barabanki, Amit Kumar Gupta of Maharajganj and Fathehpur’s Aakash Gupta. All scored 96.40 percent marks.

The exams were conducted from 12 March to 18 April at 9,332 examination centres. 39,643 examiners checked the answer sheets from 25 April to 9 May in several evaluation centres in different districts.

Class 12 mark-sheets to be available from 13 June

Students will get the mark-sheet of Class 12 examination from June 13. Secretary Upendra Kumar said the mark-sheets and other related documents will be made available to all District Director of School Regional Offices of Secondary Education Council by 12 June. According to the secretary, all principals will have to contact District Direct of School within one week and collect the mark-sheets and distribute them accordingly.
