Lucknow: Better late than never! The JD (U) finally released its poll manifesto on Tuesday just before the third phase of polling in the state.

JD (U) president Sharad Yadav released his party manifesto in Lucknow with a promise of all round development of Uttar Pradesh on the lines of Bihar, where the party is in power.

Yadav said, “To spread the policies of the party across the country we are contesting the elections single handedly. We are not concerned about a win or a loss. But it’s only our policies that can bring about a change in the state.”

Raising questions on the manifestoes of other parties he said, “Unlike the Congress, SP and the BJP our sole motive will be the development of the state irrespective of the poll results.”

Highlights of the manifesto:
•    Improvement in the law and order on the lines of Bihar
•    Launching ‘Literacy Campaign’
•    Distribution of free medicines
•    Action against the corrupt
•    Implementation of Sachar and Rangnath Mishra committee's recommendations
