Lucknow: In yet another setback for the Mayawati-led BSP government, Minister of Labour, Badshah Singh, who was dropped from the ministry, was also found guilty by the Lokayukta.

Lokayukta Justice NK Mehrotra convicted him in three cases and has urged the state government not to assign him any constitutional position.

In addition, the land under the possession of the tainted minister should be taken by the government. In view of the complaints against Singh, the government has removed him from his post.

This is for the third time within two months that a state minister has been found guilty by the Lokayukta.

Akhilesh Kumar Upadhyay, a resident of Badshah Singh home district Hamirpur had recently filed a complaint of land grabbing with the Lokayukta against Singh.

The Lokayukta has started investigation in this regard and found Singh as guilty. In its report, the Lokayukta has said that the land which was filed for the recognition of the inter-college was actually the land for degree college.

According to the report, Nagar Panchayat, the district administration has also verified the complaint of land grabbing.

Also, the proposal of the Nagar Panchayat was termed as false proceedings. Lokayukta said that Nagar Panchayat or the Gram Sabha is merely the manager of the land.
