Lucknow: In a bid to check corruption and malpractices in the administration, Uttar Pradesh Lokayukta is receiving many complaints against the ministers of the Mayawati government.

Complaints against Lalji Verma, Ramveer Upadhyay, Rakesh Dhar Tripathi, Ratanlal Ahirvar have been received by the Lokayukta.

The investigations are on in Subhash Pandya and Narayan Singh case whereas probe against Badshah Singh, who was removed from his position, is in the final stages.

Amidst all this, people’s faith in the Lokayukta has strengthened following Mayawati’s stern actions against its tainted ministers.
Lokayukta Justice NK Mehrotra said he had received several complaints against many ministers with the affidavit.

“These complaints have been taken seriously. The probe against Labour Minister Badshah Singh is in final stages and the report will be submitted to the Chief Minister as early as possible,” he said.

Mehrotra said that investigations against state Minister for Culture Subhash Pandey and Horticulture Minister Narain Singh were on.
Complaint against Higher Education Minister Rakesh Dhar Tripathi was received for irregularities in giving recognition to schools.

Medical Education Minister Lalji Verma has been accused of malpractices in construction and hiring in medical colleges.

A complaint has been received against state Power Minister Ramveer Upadhyay for buying power at escalated costs.

The Lokayukta said that preliminary investigations have begun against these ministers.
