Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Lokayukta has smeared the image of another state minister Ratan Lal Ahirwar, Dr Ambedkar Village Development Minister (independent in-charge) for illegally acquiring the government land and siphoning off Bundelkhand legislative fund.

Lokayukta Justice NK Mehrotra recommended UP Chief Minsiter Mayawti to remove Ahirawar from the ministerial position along with the recovery of the money misused. He also demanded stern action against the officials involved in the malpractices.

It needs to be mentioned that on September 22, Kamlapat Rai, a resident of Jhansi complained about the illegal encroachment of the Gram Sabha land for construction of college and misappropriation of funds for village development.

Taking serious note of the complaint, Lokayukta in his investigation report clearly mentioned that the Ahirwar’s son unlawfully constructed institute on the Paharpur Gram Sabha land in Jhansi. In 2004, the institute was allotted Rs 9.56 lakh from Bundelkhand Development Fund and Rs 29.76 lakj in 2007-08 from legislative fund for the expansion of the college.

In the investigation report, it was revealed that Madhya Pradesh CJM Court announced one year sentence to Ahirwar and his son for other accusations made on them.
