Lucknow: Taking a bold step against corruption and criminalization in Uttar Pradesh, the NGOs have decided to launch a campaign not to let the tainted ministers contest elections.

More than 300 NGOs have decided to aware people of their representatives from their respective districts and would appeal them not to vote for any minister having a criminal record. This in turn would ensure to bring good and honest people to the House.

Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch (NEW) with the help of more than 300 NGOs have decided to launch this campaign. ADR coordinator Anil Barwal said, “Apart from SP and BSP ministers, I am going to write letters to the Congress and BJP leaders and would appeal them not to field any such person who are facing trial under serious crimes.”

Mediums like SMS, posters, banners and exhibitions would be used in the awareness campaign.

Barwal said that in order to give information regarding election and tainted minister, a helpline number would also be started.
