Greater Noida: With Manveer Singh Tewatia, the farmer leader who is wanted in the violent clash case in the Greater Noida village, remaining elusive, Noida Police has initiated the procedure of attaching his property.

The Noida Police are toiling hard to arrest the absconding farmers’ leader Manveer Singh Tewatia. Despite extensive raids conducted in Meerut and adjoining districts by the Uttar Pradesh Police and Haryana, police has not been able to trace Tewatia.

The police will approach court on Monday for permission to initiate the attachment process. The appeal for the same was to be filed on Saturday, but was postponed to Monday.

SN Singh, SSP, Gautam Buddha Nagar, said, “Since Tewatia could not be arrested, the police have initiated attachment proceedings of absconding farmer leader. Once we get the court’s nod, we will attach his properties.”

The state government has announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for anybody who provides information about Tewatia who is facing the charge of inciting farmers of Bhatta-Parsaul and Achheypur villages in Greater Noida last week. Police had also registered a case against the Tewatia for leading the agitation after which he fled. Rewards were also announced for five of his supporters.

A search operation is on since last week to nab him. UP Police is taking help of STP and police of neighbouring districts and state.
