Ghaziabad: There is often a difference between what people preach and what they practice in their lives. This was on Tuesday proved at the sixth phase of assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh when key members of Team Anna who boasted astounding claims about the democracy failed to cast their votes.

Team Anna members Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia on Tuesday failed to cast their votes as their names were not in the voter list of the area they reside.

Playing the blame game, Sisodia said, “My name was not present in the voter list. I have confirmed the voter list on the website of Election Commission but it was not there.”

It is noteworthy, Kejriwal on Tuesday morning left for the airport for a campaign in Goa but on the last minute returned to the polling booth to cast his vote.

“I had to attend a program in Goa but returned back for casting my vote. I have due respect for the institution of democracy and its strongest tool ‘vote’. But it is the failure of the local administration that my name was not there,” Kejriwal said while talking to Dainik Jagran.

Some people staged protest against Kejriwal over not casting votes and preferring campaigning over the vote.

Meanwhile, another Team Anna member Kumar Vishwas along his family casted vote at Vasundhara based polling booth on the last phase of UP assembly elections.
