New Delhi: The Congress-Samajwadi Party alliance is on the brink of collapse after the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) ties up with the ruling dispensation.

One of the major stake holders in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh, Mulayam Singh-led Samajwadi Party has overtly stated that the party would shy away from possible alliance with the Congress.

Congress scion Rahul Gandhi grabs every opportunity to make scathing remarks on Mulayam Singh Yadav during his visits to the state. More so, the Congress has also fielded more than three dozen of candidates, who are said to be associated with Mulayam Singh in the past, in areas which are billed to SP stronghold like Etwah, Kannauj, Aurriyya, and other nearby districts.

Interestingly, the Congress is all set to roll out red carpet for SP member and Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha Rasheed Masood in the party.

In such a situation the SP leaders have started to press their demands on the party high command for breaking the ties with the Congress.
