Lucknow: Senior IAS officer Promila Shankar has once again shown aggressive campaign against the Promila.  Suspended on September 9 for not informing the state government about her foreign visit, Promila   has claimed that dismissal for more than 90 days is beyond the jurisdiction of the state government.

In a letter to the Principal Secretary recruitment Fateh Bhadur, Promila has said that suspension of an IAS officer comes under the Indian Services Regulation 1969. As per the provisions the state government cannot increase the duration of the suspension orders.  Citing the rules and regulation, Promila has stated that an IAS officer can be suspended for 45 days which needs to be clearly mentioned in the orders.

1976 batch IAS officer Promila is one of the state’s most senior bureaucrats. She received suspension order for not informing the state government about her foreign visit, however, it is believed that she raised questions on the Yamuna Expressway. It was due to this reason she was intentionally suspended.
