Kanpur: Under its ambitious drive to provide free and compulsory education to all, Uttar Pradesh government is ensuring that all the children coming in the age group of 6-14 must be sent to schools.

As part of this drive, teachers will seek admission of such children who have left their education mid way or have been deprived of it due to some reason. Also, it is planning to increase the percentage of admission in schools by at -least 10 percent.

The government has already issued instructions in this regard. In this connection, teachers will pay a door to door visit July 1 to July 31 and will encourage parents to send their wards to the school. Also they will focus on drop-outs and will write the date of their visit with a colored chalk-pencil on the door of the houses.
