New Delhi/Aligarh: In a socking incident highlighting brutality of Uttar Pradesh Police against women, a lady constable was caught on camera slapping three women in Aligarh.

The women had gone to a police station in the city to inquire about the reason behind the arrests of their sons days back on charges of theft. They alleged that police didn’t listen to them. When they approached a policewoman, she thrashed them up.

Speaking in this regard, one of the lady said, "I pleaded the police to release my son. My child is in a poor condition here. They are having no mercy on my child."

An inquiry has been ordered into the matter but no action has been taken against the policewoman so far.

Meanwhile, in an attempt to clarify the reason why she took the extreme step, Bharti Singh, woman constable, said that she acted on the directives of her seniors.

This is not the first incident of this kind in Uttar Pradesh. Recently, a police constable assaulting a 60-year-old woman in Aligarh during a protest had hit the headlines.
